Chalk the Talk (2019)

During my PhD, I launched an innovative and creative approach to enhancing scientific communication among students by introducing an informal talk series called "CHALK THE TALK". This series required speakers to present their scientific data using the traditional method of chalk and board, instead of relying on digital means.

The series was designed to promote a deeper understanding of the data generated and encourage students to be conceptually sound in their presentations. This approach also helped students to present their data in a more precise and targeted way and improved their ability to present posters with ease.

Despite being held on Friday nights after dinner, the series attracted a large audience, including senior faculty, which is a testament to its success. .

As a leader, I took the initiative to be the first presenter and set an example for others to follow. Overall, "CHALK THE TALK" has proven to be a valuable contribution to scientific communication and education and has the potential to inspire similar initiatives in other institutions.
